Picture Perfect by D. Anne Love

Reviewed by Mrs Hollingsworth

Phoebe, a teen, about to go into high school, her life is picture perfect. Then she finds herself struggling when her Mum moves away indefinitely to further her career. Phoebe feels tense and worried, when a gorgeous widow moves in next door and befriends her Dad. While this is all unfolding, Phoebe’s ever reliable brother Zane is in trouble with the police, which is out of character for him.
Beginning high school, Phoebe finds herself navigating the new routine of high school and her first boyfriend, without the help and advice of her Mum or her best friend, who has moved away.
All Phoebe’s attempts to pin her Mum and Dad down on when Mum will be coming home, come to nothing and Phoebe becomes increasingly annoyed with the ever present neighbour. When her father, who is a judge, is assaulted, because people in the local area disagree with his ruling on a case, Phoebe and her family seem face difficulty on many fronts.

Read this novel to find out how the family cope.
